Through a collaboration with The Color Wheel Company and Driven Tree, LLC we bring you the Digital ViewCatcher™.   The original ViewCatcher™ designed by the artist, Patti André, and the Digital ViewCatcher are intended to compliment one another in any artists toolbox.

Digital ViewCatcher™ is used to assist composition of your still-life objects and focal points.  Plein-aire artists now have a digital tool to assist with the composition of that perfect landscape. Use the Digital ViewCatcher™ to isolate an image from the surrounding noise to capture just the scene you want.  Eliminating the extraneous information around a view to focus on important cropped view.

Capture the cropped view to a photograph (or import from your Photo Library). Ensure that special lighting effect or shadow can be referenced later.

Add a grid to your photo. Use the grid as a guide to align your photo to the canvas, transfer images and to help find the focal point of your subject. Many grid choices are available and can be locked in place.

Magnification tool allows you to focus on a specific section of the photo for more clarity or to easily identify the color or tone. Are your colors warm or cool? Are they the correct value? Are your darks dark enough?

Switch your photo to gray and use the gray scale to properly identify shades. Quickly switch between color and gray to ensure accurate contrast and tonality.

We've brought the features and functionality of the widely used ViewCatcher™ to iPhone and iPod Touch owners. Now enhanced with tools and features that take advantage of this new medium. Take pictures anywhere you like then bring them back to the studio to work on them at your leisure and with all your artistic tools available. Return to the exact location to follow up based on GPS coordinates stored within your project.
